Take The Next Baby Step In Trusting God

If you are at the beginning of your cabinet painting project, you might be feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment.  I procrastinated for 6 years before painting the cabinets in our own house because I knew it would be a huge process.

When taking off the cabinet doors, I thought, “I’m just at the beginning, and I’m already sore.  How am I going to do this all on my own?”

I think the same can be said of the Christian life.  We see where we are struggling, and we see where God wants to take us, and all we can focus on is how far we have to go.

Fortunately, the Christian life isn’t like cabinet painting because we have exponential help along the way.  The more we trust God in the small things, the more He will empower us to do what’s before us.

It’s almost like putting a penny in a piggy bank.  Each time we trust God to help us and carry our burdens, it’s like you put a coin in His treasury.  You invest in Him, which compounds interest continually.

In other words, faith begets faith.  The more you trust Him with the small task ahead of you, the easier it is to trust him the next time for a slightly bigger task and so forth. 

When we learn to trust God with the small things, our faith grows, and it’s easier to lean on Him when we are faced with life’s storms.

What do you need to entrust to God?  Don’t let the path ahead deter you from trusting Him in the next step.  Just take that first tiny step of trust.

The more you trust Him, the more you can enjoy the peace of His presence no matter what this world brings.
