Hi there! I’m Karin and Welcome to Renovated Faith!

Do you serve your home or does your home serve you?

Home is more than just a place to lay your head at night.  It’s your physical and emotional haven that empowers you to live out your God-given purpose in life.  Renovated Faith helps you to create a home that helps you to care for yourself and your loved ones.

When I think of how my home functions in my life, I like to imagine it as a charger base for my phone.  The charger is a place for my phone to recharge so it can be ready to be used to its full capacity the next day.

The same can be said for our homes in that they should be a cozy retreat that restores our energy so we can meet our God-given potential in our everyday lives.  And for our homes to be that safe haven, we have to make sure our home’s décor and furnishings serve us instead of the other way around.

When our homes are serving us, they are restorative and inspiring, but when we are serving our homes, they are draining and discouraging.

Here are some ways I have served my home in the past:

  • Comparing my décor to homes on Instagram instead of creating a look I TRULY love
  • Spending too much on furniture instead of a DIY option that looks just as good
  • Incorporating furnishings that are beautiful but not functional.
  • Incorporating furnishings that are functional but not beautiful. (You need both!)
  • Designing a room to please someone else instead of myself

But Renovated Faith is here to help!  To find out what it means to create a home that serves you, click below:

This is a warm and welcoming environment where you can find inspiration and detailed tutorials to make your house into the home you’ve always wanted!

I show you ways to create for your home and heart, which includes DIY Décor, Home Improvement, and Furniture Refinishing while sharing Faith-Filled Encouragement along the way.

When Jeremy and I first got married, we found ourselves in a tiny home with an even smaller budget.  But those blank empty walls called out to me and I found ways to transform our house into a home without spending a fortune.

Unexpectedly, I learned something amazing in the process…that the best transformation within those four walls was not just in my furniture projects or home décor hacks, but actually in myself!

I realized God wants to transform us in the same way a curbside reject becomes a showroom-worthy furniture piece.  Whatever trial you are facing, He wants to transform it – oftentimes from a hot mess to a thing of beauty and purpose!

Before I knew it I was posting my projects online but what I thought would be a record of renovating my house is actually the details of how God is renovating me!

God never leaves a project half-done…He continually works on each one of us, as a lavish expression of His amazing grace.

That’s why each of Renovated Faith’s blog posts includes a step-by-step DIY tutorial with an encouraging devotional at the end. While Renovated Faith inspires and equips you to turn your house into a home, it also demonstrates how God offers hope to transform our hearts.
